The Nescafe Dolce Gusto is a very retro looking coffee maker, with the ability to create cappuccinos, lattes and more. It has a round water canister located in the back, and a rather large chrome lever on top. Because it is only a single-serve coffee maker, you can only brew one cup of coffee at a time, rather than one large pot.

It comes in only a few colors: red, black, or white, and produces fifteen bars of pressure. The machines can be bought at most Macy’s stores or Bed Bath and Beyond, and the coffee and milk capsules can be purchased online. It is pretty affordable for most self-serve brewers, costing around $150. On the upside, it’s a fast and easy-to-use machine; however, can only be used with capsules.

Once you place a capsule in the holder, lock it in place and move the lever to the “hot” setting, the pressurized water will begin immediately. There is also cold water setting as well and is used when making iced cappuccinos with the Nescafe Dolce Gusto capsules. Once you’ve brewed enough, simply pull the lever back and take out the capsule.

Although it is a very easy machine to use, and offers great control and flexibility when making your drinks, it isn’t as automatic as most brewers on the market. Once you start the brewing process, you will have to manually stop the machine once you are happy with the amount brewed.

Each capsule is color coded because the ingredients of each may look identical to the other. The coffee made from the Nescafe Dolce Gusto is bold and full of flavor, and the milk capsules come out thick and foamy. It is a very impressive coffee maker for the price and will produce wonderful drinks for you quickly and with minimal fuss.
